Hey! I like your page, It's good seeing spudguns being sold to people who don't have the
time to build one. the domain name spudgun.com is being used wisely. Hey I have a page but
I don't sell them I give plans for the guns. Will you post a link from spudgun.com to my
page? I've got a link from my page to yours but it's not posted. I haven't updated. It
would be such an honor to have a link from your page to mine. MY URL is:

I'm a criminal defense lawyer in the midwest. I have a client who was charged with two
felony counts of possessing an offensive weapon for having a potato launcher in his car.
We took it to trial and the jury found my client not guilty because they couldn't believe
these things are actually "weapons". I think the government will try again.

Thanks for your input. It was the hair spray which was too old. It does the job. Launches
have been anywhere between 100 to 250 yards. The chamber explosion reminds me of frags in
Nam. I'll always supervise my son when he uses it. By the way most of my relatives are in
Madison, Elkhorn and Delevan.

I tried them until this past weekend. They were absolutely unbelievable. We were not
able to measure the distances, but they easily were in excess of the 1000 yard claim. We
shot a couple straight up with a glow stick attached and timed the round trip........which
was 20.2 seconds!!!! I'll be placing another order as soon as I
run out! Thanks for an excellent product, and some great entertainment. I shot these at a
party recently and have recommended your product to several people.

Dear Larry,
We are currently working on a home video to send you but I have a question. I have let my
gun sit around for about two weeks and the aqua net propellant has fused the back screw
cap to the gun. I was wondering if you had any advice on what I should do to break the
seal. Thank You
TRY SOAKING THE CHAMBER OPENING IN HOT WATER. THE HOT WATER WILL HELP DISOLVE THE HAIRSPRAY AND YOU CAN BREAK IT LOOSE.

Larry,
I was also sondering if anyone has ever used Talcom powder or flour to increase the
effect. Rmember. I want to use this as a starting gun for sailboat races. Thus, pwoder
coming out of the barrel would enhance the effect. Do you say OK, or is this a no-no..??
SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA, I'LL HAVE TO TRY IT MYSELF.

Larry, Went shooting rockets the other night. I still can't get over these things.
Finished work on about our 8th generation potato gun."whoa"(cutting edge
technology ignition system) one night out in the desert we shot the spudrok for
about 6 hours. We were getting ranges of about 12 to 13 hundred yards (1300 yards or 3900
feet) and altitudes of about 1300 to 1500 feet. Most of the rockets tend to land in the
same area of about a 50' radius. I know that this may sound unbelievable but I invite
anyone who wants to go out to the Mojave and shoot spudroks for a couple of nights to
contact me. If you haven't seen a spudrok with glow stick launched at night then you can't
have any idea , your cluless. We took a wad and turned it upside down (like a cup) and
then after cutting a glowstick open we poured the liquid into the wad which was already
loaded into the muzzle of a fueled potato gun. After the wad was carefully rammed to the
spud stop(TM), we aimed the spudgun straight up the resulting explosion propelled that
little cap of glowing stuff into the night sky. There before our eyes was a cloud about 30
feet high by about 10 to 15 feet wide and it was glowing. We were stunned and amazed. I
ran through the cloud and on the other side I had about a thousand points of light
covering my body fromthe non-toxic,may stain clothing, magically glowing mixture. We used
all of our remaining glowsticks doing this. All of this stuff is just TOO MUCH DAMN FUN!!!

Larry,
I shoot these rockets all the time with glow sticks at night, thats how come I am always
able to retrieve them. The only problem is finding someone to shoot them to me while I'm
down range. being down range and having these "buzzbombs" land next to you
(within 10to 20') is so awesome. I can't believe how much fun these are. Everyone loves
them, the kids, the grownup kids, everyone. This is one of the most entertaining and
popular toys I've ever come across. some one out there is a real genius for coming up with
this! I spent ten years in the Navy working on weapon systems and these rockets are really
incredible, I just can't say enough. About the wads though. these wads have expanded the
versatility of my spudgun from just shooting a couple of things to shooting anything I
want. I think that the wads are as spectacular as the rockets. I broke four clay pigeons
from about 30 yards away using the wads and a handful of gravel, incredible!!!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful invention, WOW!!!
I THINK THIS GUY JUST WET HIS PANTS.

Larry barnes
Here's how the cannon works...I have a 2 lb cylinder of N20 that i have put a regular air
fitting on, I attach this to the air chamber under the gun and fill it to around 40
psi....the chamber has a high pressure hose and a valve connected to the chamber of the
gun.
To fire the gun you do as would with a normal potato gun........load your potato, ad 3
quik seconds of hairspray,(USE ONLY HAIRSPRAY NO MORE THAN 3 QUIK SECONDS OF IT, NITROUS
OXIDE IS NON-FLAMMABLE BUT VIGOROUSLY ACCELERATES COMBUSTION ANY OTHER FUEL COULD
BLOW UP YOUR CANNON) screw on the end cap, then open the valve that lets in the
nitrous...all you need is a little nitrous....you can hear it hiss as it enters the
chamber, about 2 quick seconds of nitrous is all you need...you get around 25 to 30 shots
on a charge of nitrous........the reason for the nitrous chamber instead of the nitrous
bottle and regulator hooked directly to the gun is that it make's the gun more portable
and I found it cheaper than buying a regulator for the nitrous bottle.
A cheaper method of making a nitrous gun is to use a whip cream dispenser found in
restaraunt supply stores they use nitrous clylinders that look like the small co2
cartridges used in bb guns..you just hook up the dispenser to your fuel chamber with a
valve....let in some nitrous and fire...you get quite a few cartridges in a box at about 5
or 6 shots percartridge. these are about 8 to 10 dollars a box
Also depending on where you live potato guns may not be legal.....in the slim chance that
you were to have your cannon confiscated you would lose your N20 cylinder (around $140.00)
This is the most expensive part of the gun. It is refillable at $3.50 a lb. it lasts a
very long time.......I don't have anymore pics at this time.......the one that i sent you
is a snappy shot off my camcorder, they don't come in that clear (kind of fuzzy) i will
try to take some better shots of it in the near future and include a detailed list of
parts.
Once you have figured out the correct amount of hairspray and N20 to use itfires every
time without fail at distances i have never seen with just hairspray.

Larry,
The "Spud Gun" is great!!! Very nicely engineered!!!
I'm only having one minor problem. I'm getting some gas bleed through around the ignitor.
Is there any washers or bushings that you know of which would stand up to the heat and
seal that area a little better?
Thanx,
bill patton
THE BLEEDING AROUND THE IGNITOR IS DUE TO A FLAT SURFACE MATING WITH A CURVED SURFACE, SANDING DOWN THE CHAMBER TO A FLAT SURFACE THINS OUT THE WALL OF THE PVC PIPE. THE IGNITORS THREAD DEPTH WILL NOT ALLOW A RUBBER WASHER TO BE INSTALLED. THE LEAKAGE REALLY DOSENT EFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE GUN. THE DARKENING OF THE WHITE PCV PIPE IS NORMAL.

I bought the gun so that I could have fun with my son. I am unhappy with how it looks now.
It looks like it is burnt on one part and we are having trouble with the switch.
Sincerely,
Rita Wilson
THE BURN MARKS AROUND THE IGNITOR ARE NORMAL. HOT GAS WILL ESCAPE AND CAUSE DISCOLORATION ON THE WHITE PVC PIPE. YOU CAN TRY TO CLEAN THE INGITOR. OVER SEVERAL SHOOTINGS, HAIR SPRAY WILL COAT THE ELECTRODE TIPS AND CAUSE THE SPARK NOT TO JUMP THE GAP. YOU CAN TRY CLEANING WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL. INCLOSED WITH YOUR GUN WAS INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING AND MODIFYING AN IGNITOR THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT SEVERAL STORES. HOPE THIS EXPLAINS YOUR QUESTIONS.

In recent weeks while using our spud gun when have found a better propellent. We had ran
out out aqua net so we dug around in the shop and found some stuff that said combustible.
We stuck it in a empty spray bottle and fired it and its the best. Little to our knowledge
it was 98 octane unleaded. We got out the measuring tape and it hit about 700 yards.
Doug
p.s. only 8 sprays
I hope you don't smoke and spray. Just when you tell someone that they should'nt do it someone does it. I do not recommend pump gas. Bad boy Doug, shame on you, take a time out.

WD-40 has quit using combustible propellant due to litigation stemming from cans coming
into contact with electrical circuits and exploding, causing death and dismemberment. maybe
lighter fluid dispensed from a spray bottle would work just as well. that's what we used
for a tennis ball cannon and it was very effective.

Dear Larry,
I've been shooting and building potato "toys" for several years now. Your page
is very good. I have some information to pass on to you. Have you ever talked to anyone
that has shoot "glow-sticks". All of the potato "toys" use 2"
barrel and are capable of shooting these "rockets". The only problen is that
they are sub-calliber. We have solved the problem by using what we call "caps"
that are like plastic like tracers but are non-flamable!
.KEEP UP THE FIRE! SPUDROK gasschecks as used in realoading ammo. We found that
using this system that we are able to obtain distances of 600 yards or better with a
remarkable accuracy of 20 foot radius! We fire
these at night and they are fully recoverable.
